I'm trying so hard, really I am, but my God I just cannot take DragonForce seriously! I want to, at least long enough to learn a few of their songs for the concert on Saturday, but good grief...I don't see what the big deal is. Yeah, okay, they play some pretty fast guitar riffs, but I've heard that they record them all in seperate takes, so it's not all being played at the same time, even in the studio. Not to sound like an elitist snob (you're all well aware of how I feel about the Wildchild <3), but I'm pretty sure Alexi Laiho could play any of this fairly easily without having to rely on recording tricks, etc. And don't get me started on the lyrics...I realize I have probably been spoiled by the genius of Tuomas Holopainen, Tony Kakko and yes, even Alexi Laiho (anyone who pays attention to CoB's lyrics at all will know what I'm talking about...), but I like something a bit deeper than slaying dragons and rescuing damsels in distress! On top of that, all their songs sound the same. Gah! The keytar duel between DF's keyboardist and Henrik from SA better be worth suffering through any of their set...*sighs*

*giggles* Wow, you really don't like them. Let's hope that their setlist isn't too heinous for you. On the plus side, you'll get to hear some real music xP And you'll prolly get to hear Flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag xP
