I have this intense fear...

I woke up a bit late since I had to work today, but I managed to actually shower and get ready in under 20 minutes, which has to be a new record for me. So I'm on my way out the door and my phone goes off (gotta love hearing "Perkele!" from Allu first thing in the morning xP), and it's a text from Krystle asking if I'm coming in today. Let me just point out that it's 10:40 when she sends me this, and I'm supposed to be at work at 11, so I was a bit insulted because I would have called in a lot earlier than 20 minutes before my shift! >.< Anyway, I told her yes, that I was leaving the house as I was texting her, and she said okay and that was that. I managed to squeeze in a quick stop at Dunkin Donuts to ensure that I got some food in my stomach (turkey, cheddar and bacon flatbread sandwich, yum) and a good amount of caffeine (iced caramel swirl lattes FTW!) and then drove to the hospital.

So I got here at 10:55, still with, amazingly enough, 5 minutes to spare, put my bottle of water in the freezer to make sure that it's cold by the time I want to sneak out and get a drink, then came into the lab to put on my lab coat and...yeah, it wasn't there. Someone took it off the hook and put it somewhere else, and it had all my good pens and some notes (basically drafts of poems) in the pockets. Now there are several reasons that someone may take a lab coat away, mainly if it's dirty, but I had just taken that one on Monday morning, and I only worked Monday and part of Friday, so I know it can't have been that dirty. Another reason is if you may have put it on the wrong hook, in which case whoever's coat you hung it over normally just tosses it on the floor and then it ends up in the laundry, but I'm very, very careful about where I hang my coat because of the poetry that I keep in the pockets. So...I'm really quite worried that they're trying to get rid of me. I know that seems like I'm jumping to conclusions, but...

...I went to sign in on my timecard today too, and there was a huge sticky note on it that read "Go talk to Sharon before signing in. Do not log into a computer until you have spoken to Sharon." ._. What the fuck am I going to do? I need this job. I need a job. I like this job, and if they fire me simply because I was ill, I can promise you I will fight it. Goddammit.

Anyway, I really have to get to work. It's looking a lot busier than the past few Saturdays have, and we don't exactly have a strong crew on. Lovely...
